🌱 My Story

Hi, I'm Dre — and I'm so glad you're here.

Relationships can be beautifully fulfilling, but they can also be incredibly complex.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, struggling to communicate, or navigating a major life change, I offer a compassionate space to help you find clarity and connection again.

💑 My Own Relationship Journey

  • I’ve been with my partner for 21 years. Together, we've raised a blended family of four children — ranging in age from 6 to 30 — a journey filled with both joys and challenges that have shaped my deep understanding of long-term commitment and relational growth.

  • I have also experienced divorce and the emotional transitions that come with it. My personal co-parenting experience taught me firsthand what it takes to maintain emotional balance, stability, and clear communication in a blended family context.

  • Living in a blended family has given me unique insight into what it means to balance new relationships, evolving roles, and the emotional needs of both adults and children.

These life experiences aren’t just chapters in my story — they’re the foundation for how I show up as a therapist: grounded, non-judgmental, and deeply empathetic.

🧠 My Therapeutic Approach

I believe therapy should be a space where you feel seen, safe, and genuinely supported. I work with couples and individuals to reduce conflict, increase connection, and build skills that last well beyond the therapy room.

My approach is:

  • Relational & Experiential: Helping you reconnect by focusing on real-time dynamics and emotional safety.

  • Trauma-Informed: Many people carry past hurts that show up in current relationships. I am trained in EMDR and Brainspotting, two powerful methods for processing trauma and reducing emotional reactivity.

  • Flexible & Tailored: I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I draw from multiple modalities to meet your unique needs.

I draw from evidence-based practices like:

  • Gottman Method (Level 1): Communication tools and strategies for deepening trust and minimizing conflict.

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Building secure attachment bonds and emotional resilience.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): Understanding the inner parts of ourselves that influence how we relate to others.

  • Sex-Positive Therapy: Creating space for honest, respectful conversations about intimacy, desire, and sexual connection.

🧒 Parenting & Family Dynamics

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 25 years working in education, helping children thrive in both academic and emotional development.

That work gave me a profound understanding of how children think, grow, and relate to the world — and how crucial parenting is in shaping that journey.

I support parents in:

  • Developing realistic routines that support growth, not stress.

  • Learning how to connect emotionally with their children across developmental stages.

  • Navigating differences in parenting styles while maintaining unity.

  • Addressing burnout, which is so common for parents trying to “do it all.” I understand how chronic overwhelm can spill over into relationships — and I help families recover, reset, and realign.

Whether you’re parenting toddlers, teens, or adult children, I can help you create a family culture that reflects your values and supports your wellbeing.

🤝 Co-Parenting

I’ve lived the co-parenting journey myself — and it’s one of the most humbling, growth-filled, and emotionally complex experiences of my life.

After going through divorce, I had to figure out how to keep my child’s world stable while navigating big feelings, changing routines, and sometimes-tough conversations with a former partner. I know firsthand how much it takes to stay grounded and compassionate when emotions are high and communication is hard.

That personal experience has deeply shaped the way I support other co-parents. I don’t offer cookie-cutter advice — I offer empathy, strategies, and the perspective of someone who’s been there. Together, we’ll work on building a co-parenting relationship that truly supports your child’s development and your own emotional well-being.

Some of the areas I can help with include:

  • Creating consistent parenting structures across two homes

  • Setting healthy boundaries while staying child-focused

  • Managing miscommunication and emotional triggers with your co-parent

  • Helping your child feel secure and supported through transitions

  • Navigating new partners, blended dynamics, and shifting roles

I believe that peaceful co-parenting is possible — even if things didn’t start out that way. You deserve to feel proud of the way you’re showing up for your kids and for yourself.

👨‍👩‍👧 Blended Families

Living in a blended family has given me a deep, lived understanding of what it means to merge households, build trust with stepchildren, and support everyone’s evolving roles and emotions.

With four children spanning the ages of 6 to 30, I’ve walked through just about every stage of blended family life — from the early days of establishing new routines to navigating complex teen years and beyond. I help families manage loyalty binds, build secure relationships, and create a home where everyone feels like they belong.
